Sadly just Oxford Series II.

Nothing wrong with that. It was a much better car than the bouncy Austin Cambridge, leather trim, full set of dials except rev. counter, rack and pinion steering (which neither the Isis nor the Cambridge had), and torsion bar ifs.

OMV was a strange Middlesex series - 610 to 625 and 638 to 875 were issued in Sept 1947 for commercial vehicles, but all other numbers were allocated to War department, then transferred internally to other Gov't departments. So OMV 566 undateable, but could well be genuine.

But OWV might not make you Wilt as much.

County Council of Wiltshire 2/57 to 4/57.

It is 'OWV 566' so it could have hanged around unsold for six months from late 1956?

Quite possible but other option would be a gov’t registered car bought as one of a batch. The S3 was introduced “Autumn 1956”according to Robson. The major failing of the S2, the rather floppy column gear change, was not totally deleted, but a floor change option became available on the S3. Dad’s S3, 364 PRE, Sage green, had a column change and the optional Manumatic clutchless gearbox. Not good.

It has been fitted with additional torpedo side lamps atop the wings, like those on Austins. Very odd.

Maybe the original side lamps, either side of the grille, have been converted to flashing indicators, the Morris cars stuck to semaphores for far too long.
