I elected to use [EG/EH], sort of like [GD/GE] for Brazilian Fit, but exiv mentioned it may confuse people. Personally I disagree as it might help someone new to come along and say “well italy only received the [EG5] not [EH9]”. There usually is only two codes that could be used. I didn’t think it would that confusing. However, I believe the old rule of thumb was to pick a default code and run with it. Just the background information as to why one code is used. I am sure if enough members agree to use two, if we cannot tell, it could change the consensus on how we label these. I do not agree with leaving the code blank. Either should use one (default) or both if two exist. |

Don't actually know how to proceed, but how we do choose which code? It is EG by default? |

I have no idea what codes we default outside US. I’d wait for other admins to chime in. I know I would go case by case with each civic/fit/accord. I already cleaned up American Accords 1990-1997 & 2003-2007 and we default to the 4 cylinder codes here as V6 models sold significantly less. Maybe if production numbers exist we could use that information? I really don’t know how we figured to use code A vs code B. |

I haven't any production figure, but I can say that here the 1.5 was far more common than the sportier motors. |
