I was thinking Chevrolet, but it's more likely to be a 1938 Oldsmobile Eight ?? |

1938 Pontiac Eight 4-door Sedan explanation: Eight and not Six because the parking lamps (visible on second picture) on the top of the headlamps "4-door Sedan" because the other model with the trunk is the "4-door Touring Sedan" |

I agree with Yvon 52, it is a 1938 Pontiac Eight 4 door sedan on the 122 inches wheelbase. The eight had the Indian Chief Hood Mascot visible here and hood louvres with 3 horizontal strips .These models are quite rare since the Touring Sedans with integrated trunk were far more popular. The car on the right is a similar 1938 Pontiac Eight lacking the wheel rims. |

Re the rarity of the plain flatback sedans - I don't have the figures for Pontiacs of that era but in 1938 Oldsmobile sold only 200 flatback eights vs 14,000 trunkbacks and Buick (in the Special series) sold 11,000 flatbacks vs 79,000 trunkbacks. |
