Very minor scene of this early example E12. I beleive it simply drives away from the house and that's it. Cool car though (color, year, condition etc.). |

Rosslyn plant assembled E12 in 1974-1985 period. Sierra beige colour http://www.bmpdesign.com/images/cars/e21_320i/AlandCarSmall.jpg was applied in mid 1976 - mid 1978 period. First facelifted E12s came out Rosslyn plant in February 1977. So, it's late 1976 car, not yet 1977 MY! 525 is possible. But... The bonnet with hump doesn't indicate exactly M30 engine in South Africa cars. All E12s assembled in Rosslyn - 518s, 520s, 525s - had humpy bonnets! |

The humpy bonnets came in March 1977 for S.A.-built BMW 5's. |

February or March 1977, according source. http://e12.assertion.de/palette/sa/02a60l20.htm I mean "bumpy" bonnet in pre-facelifted 6-cyl. European versions: http://e12.assertion.de/palette/de/02a09001.jpg In confirming to plain 4-cyl. versions' bonnet: http://e12.assertion.de/palette/de/02a07001.jpg -- Last edit: 2010-08-17 18:50:42 |
