Full length side trims (they go to the rear, past the petrol cap) plus wooden door cappings would suggest Vitesse, not Herald. I think you're right, 240 Gardner: this is a Vitesse. But as far as I know the two-tone version was only available (in the UK) on the first '1600' series, April 1962 till September 1966. Edit: On the other hand, the chrome trim on the bootlid indicates a Mk.2 indeed: September 1968 - May 1971.
