Lots and lots of pre-1990 western cars poured in once the borders opened. In my trip to Ukraine last year, most of what I saw were German cars like Mercedes, BMW, Audi, VW and larger Opels (Omega, Vectra, Senator) and Fords (Scorpio, Sierra), but you'll see just about anything they could get their hands on. Fiat Cromas were quite common as taxis.

Indeed. Lots and lots of pre-1990 western cars poured in once the borders opened.
