MT, County Council of Middlesex, 8/28 to 6/29.

As we are only at 2216, probably late 1928.

It's now in the Toyota museum in Japan :wow: :

Looking into the books, my feeling would be to suggest an Aero. Not sure if Super Sports or not, engine could be MAG, Blackburne, JAP, or Precision, or others but the Matchless and Ford Eight engines were later than this car.

Can anyone comment upon the engine fitted in this case?

It’s had an engine transplant, the subject picture is sv in appearance, the museum picture has external pushrods.

Can we eliminate JAP for the watercooling?

Edit: Ignore the above. https://www.mtwc.co.uk/engines-as-fitted-by-morgan-motor-company/

Dunno. Were all JAPs air cooled then?

The Current engine is a "Dog Eared JAP".

That’s a good resource about the engines used.

Never heard of a Mog with an Anzani engine before.

I've had a look at Anzani & Blackburne motors on Google Images, nothing in common with what's here, thats got to be a K series sidevalve? The magnetos are the same on both, but there were only a few magneto manufacturers so........ wormhole of possibilities.

All I can add is that it looks to be one of the two-speed chain drive cars.

Knowing the set-up at Morgan’s, I can’t envisage a car registered in Feb 1929 having been built in 1929.

Yes, with these front wings - enabling V1 & rotate - sure it's Aero. :sun:

Perhaps that’s why they fitted the Dog Eared JAP.
