#52 is Terry Wade - Brian Reed, in the B&G Meyers Leyland entry. Finished 24th, completed 131 laps. I can find a record of him racing it in 1977, so it is at least that old. But can't find any more as of yet. |

Very short sales window in Aus - 620 Sprints were imported from August 1975 to June 1976. Apparently the only colour choice was yellow. 1850 HL also sold in Aus and carried on after Sprint dropped. |

“Sprint? What does that mean?” “Well, it’s to do with the speed at which the rust attacks the subframes, mind you, all the other Dolomites are the same.” My mother had a ‘74 Dolomite 1850 Auto. Lovely car but.... It replaced her brown Allegro, known in the family as The Toad. -- Last edit: 2020-09-16 09:31:57 |

Snap, our '74 1850 auto replaced an Egg roll, an early quartic one that was bloody awful, our 1st ever car with a radio, that you couldn't hear above 60 because of wind noise. . The Dolly rusted around the arches and the matt black panel on the boot lid disappeared, I was too young to consider how bad it was underneath. Much later, a mate had a brown Allegro, it was known as the flying turd. |
