Bravada ◊ 2007-10-19 10:10	Nope, it was based on the Mazda Familia (aka 323), just like the USDM Escort, which, apart from the first-gen, was not an Escort at all. The Laser nameplate was later used in some markets (I guess it still is) on last-gen Familias (known as Protege in the US).

Nope, it was based on the Mazda Familia (aka 323), just like the USDM Escort, which, apart from the first-gen, was not an Escort at all. The Laser nameplate was later used in some markets (I guess it still is) on last-gen Familias (known as Protege in the US).
