However, Mayer was killed in practice for the final race of the series, at Longford, Tasmania, when he lost control at over 100 mph and spun and hit a tree next to the course." (Feb 64) - from wiki. So van is likely to be 1963-ish. Any info whether NZ favoured Austin or Morris?? Also possible as a Tasman event this could be Aus??
