1970 or '71 from the wheel covers. |

BTW, no such thing as a "1968" Mark III. All initial Mark III's were VIN-coded as 1969 models right from the begining. |

I'm watching this movie now and I noticed in some shots of the car there is some kind of pod on the hood. It looks almost like the tachometer you see on muscle cars of the era that's out on the hood but meant to be read by the driver. Any clue what this pod might be on this Lincoln? It was painted the body color of the car and I couldn't make out any gauge on it. |

Any particular reason this is listed as a 1971 instead of a 1970? It has the low-back seat design, more typical of the '70 models. I know of nothing from the factory meeting Max Power's description. |

It's barely visible in the original entry picture on the hood directly in line with the side view mirror. I took this pic of my TV to give greater detail. I think it makes it clear it can't be any kind of gauge. Perhaps an early version of a factory installed garage opener transmitter? Anybody confirm? |

^That's an Automatic Headlamp Dimmer. I agree; this has 1970 seats. |
