All that is glitters is not gold. I doubt that this is particularly a 300 SEL 6,3. Partly because the rear doors aren't long enough and partly because the lack of reflexions on the upper parts of the rear door frames. Whereas most cars could only be ordered in a few colours, Mercedes-Benz could be painted in an almost infinite amount of colours. I'd say this is eithet Beige Grey metallic (DB 728 by Herberts http://sterntwiete.mparschau.de/html/728_1.html ) or Astral Silver metallic (DB 735 by Glasurit http://sterntwiete.mparschau.de/html/735_1.html ). Agree not a 6.3, which I'm still convinced had a bigger grille than lesser W108s - somehow it looks deeper extending down into the bumpers rather than stopping at their level. But I've never been able to find clear examples to show the difference .... |
