Or it could be a '98 that sat unsold for a year or new plates issued to a car that came with it's owner from another state. The tiny red script below the blue numerals/letters on the license plate celebrated California's 150th anniversiary. The Honda Passport was a slighty different Isuzu Rodeo that Isuzu built for Honda. Note the full-size spare tire under the rear of the truck. The Rodeo/Passport was customer friendly in offering under the truck spare tire or hang on the rear door spare tire.
