Smells Morris?? But older than a Minor van as it has a flat door surface, so maybe Series Z??? Don't think it's a Thames 300E. |

Bedford CA van, likely to be Mk.II (turn signal light just visible on the bottom right) and again possibly Martin Walter Workobus as they are seated inside. Shape of glass relative to hinge and drip rail position are as CA vans. Only the thickness of the window surround rubber (and possibly size of glass) suggests an earlier van to me, or a necessary replacement surround during restoration? Edit: Early photographs of (some?) CA vans show a flatter and thinner rubber glazing section which could increase the glass area without changing the rear door glass apertures. Whether this was used in all production vans or a conventional thicker rounded section was also used (as on some restored vans) I cannot determine but I do know the sliding doors particularly on the CAL glass were sometimes treated differently. It appears to me there were large and small glass sizes during production but never really understood the difference in actual dates. -- Last edit: 2019-08-26 11:50:40 |
