Petrol engined vehicles with electric transmissions of one kind or another have been around for more than 100 years, the Baker, Rauch and Lang Co of Cleveland Ohio, took up patents for the Entz magnetic transmission in or around 1915 in cars variously known as Crown Magnetic, or Owen Magnetic. Couple-Gear electric trucks were available from 1905, firstly battery powered and then with a 519 cu inch Continental engine driving a 12.5 kilowatt generator powering their electric wheels, there was the Austro-German Lohner-Porsche from a similar time and in England we had Tilling-Stevens of Maidstone's petrol electric buses in production during the first three decades of the 20th century. -- Last edit: 2019-05-16 09:02:22 |

i think its a play on the name ( can we call this name hybridation ? ) as this car is sold as Chrysler in Mexico but as Dodge in US and Canada and they were lauched before the mainstream hybrids/electric that are now known globally ( Toyota Prius, Nissan Leaf to give a few examples ) |

Apparently in Mexico it was sold as the Dodge Stratus: https://auto.mercadolibre.com.mx/MLM-698865072-stratus-96-4-puertas-automatico-_JM So is this Mexico? Argentina? Or Spain? The latter two I believe received the Chrysler name while the Mexican version retwined the Dodge name. Where do we place this one? |
