Looks to be a circa 1975 Toyota Hilux Pickup. |

Wasn't it said numerous times that "Hilux" name was not used in USA? |

Correct, the Hilux name was never used in the U.S. They've used various names over the years, but I think for the 1970s it was just "Toyota truck." |

Also are a 1974 AMC Gremlin, 1983 Ford Mustang, 1981 Toyota Tercel |

According to Edmunds, Hi-Lux was dropped in US in 1976. 1975 would be a Hi-Lux. |

Come to think of it, the logo on the grille of the Toyota pick-up looks almost like the Pontiac logo, does anyone else think so? Gotta love The Goonies! |

They almost did! Someone at GM took a '73 El Camino and swapped the front end with that of a Pontiac Grand Am but GM never went forward with a Pontiac pickup. -- Last edit: 2021-09-18 02:23:48 |

And a similar one-off in 1959 - 'El Catalina' and here. |

Ahh yes, the G8 pickup... the Pontiac truck we sadly never got... Also, El Catalina would been a perfect name for a '50s variant... though a tad overly Hispanic. Nothing wrong with that! -- Last edit: 2021-09-19 05:36:41 |
