"Features .... Bedford OWB GFO323 at the end." - from Buses On Screen. But the xFO series from Radnor in Wales only got to EFO in 1963, without reaching GFO, which only emerged in 1994 as a DVLA retro series. So it must be GFD = Dudley, July 46 to April 47. And it looks more like GFD. |

Was reported to me as GFO, and I had (have) no screencaps to back it up, but I'm happy to accept GFD, and the entire BoS entry needs a rewrite. |

Anyone agree it’s Duple Vista, and what price the OWB identification if it’s post war per the registration? OB production resumed in October 1945. Link to "en.m.wikipedia.org" -- Last edit: 2019-03-02 14:46:05 |

Although production of Bedford OB chassis started before October 1945 fewer than 50 were made in that year; production only reached about 1,500 units in 1946 Searching on Buslistsontheweb for near-registrations to GFD323 gives HFD609, 643 and 945 all Bedford OBs registered in 1948, a lot later than I would expect for a HFD registration? So perhaps GFD323 was an OB from 1946 or 1947? |

^ HFD series was April 1947 to July 1948, with 609 being the first 1948 number. |

I've confirmed it thanks to the relevant PSV Circle publication as a Bedford OB new in September 1946 with Duple coachwork, to Bestway of Netherton. |

A really good reason to visit Netherton. https://whatpub.com/pubs/DUD/3215/old-swan-netherton In my working days in Dudley this used to be a Friday lunchtime venue. I now, thinking back, realise that I left that job 40 years ago! -- Last edit: 2019-03-08 16:33:52 |
