Typical for pre-fl de Luxes (1957-58/early 59). This car has 1959+ grille of facelifted version and bumpers used till 1961 (1961+ model had already different ones). Strange is the metal overlay on rear doors (on crease where the rear fender starts) - which is short, in typical 1959+ cars it usally was taller. This plus the side trim makes me think it can be 1957-58 with not original grille taken from 1959+ model, but some rare interim version, not covered by the period brochures also cannot be exluded. http://www.die-besten.de/wartburg/homepage1024x768.htm I bet this is Course de la Paix (right?), so IMO can be German crew car - German name can be used by default. -- Last edit: 2019-02-11 15:37:52 |

One more thing. I just noticed how the wipers are parked - in fact this works in favor of 1959+ interim version... Not easy one. |
