Packard Convertible Victoria by Darrin 1941.This one is a bit of a puzzle .It has the 1941 grille , hood side trim, hood mascot, fully integrated headlights in the fenders, and standing lights on top of the front fenders that would make it a nineteenth series one eighty ( 180) model 1906 . However the doors are still rear-hinged ( of the " suicide" type ) whereas the 19th series Darrin Convertible Victoria model 1906 body style 1429 of 1941 had front hinged doors and 4 chrome strips on the fenders. It may be one of the last samples of the body style 700 of 1940 built in the Darrin factory in California ,already fitted with the 1941 trims before production was transferred to Connersville Indiana ,or a rebuild model 1806 body style 700 of 1940 but I doubt the latter.Call to all Packard specialists. In the meantime I keep it to a 1941 Packard Convertible Victoria by Darrin nineteenth series one eighty (180) |

Since the movie is 1941 is the car more likely to be from 1940 then with the differences found? |

I would guess that they built some left over 40s with the new 41 front end. |

This may be the same car as in the photo next to this one. The yellow car was an update of a 39 owned by an actor and the car was dark blue at this time. See my caption on other photo from movie Natic Jackson 1987. |
