3800? It looks like a "singled out" 1 ton |

1954-55 windshield and grille of the 1947-55 Chevrolet Advance-Design trucks line on a platform truck. So not a pickup. Despite the heavy-duty wheel rims of the 1½-ton 4000-Series or 2-ton 6000-Series trucks and what could be the 137"/3.48 m wheelbase (to be compared with the 2nd/long 161"/4.09 m one of heavy-duty models) that the 1-ton 3800 truck shares with the 2 bigger ones, this medium-duty platform truck is "betrayed" by its hood, different of the one of a heavy-duty models. But with such a picture, it hard to see if this platform has the 137" wheelbase (3800 model) or the 125¼"/3.18 m one of the ¾-ton 3600 model. And no other visible detail could help us to identify the accurate model number: in 1954 both models had single rear wheels with dual ones as option (except for pickups), so this can't be used as a clue to tell a model over the other... ⇒ 1954 Chevrolet Advance-design Platform?
