1919-21, then 22/3 then 1924. Sunbeam 24, then 24/60, then 24/70 Straight six, side valve until the 24/60, then OHV, but all these models were 4 1/2 litre. Discontinued, according to my books, before the subject vehicle’s apparent date of 1931. These were long stroke (150mm) engines which would explain the lower RAC Taxable horsepower in the larger capacity engine. -- Last edit: 2019-01-02 00:28:01 |

WM 6400 plate confirmed as originally issued Southport, midway through 1931, so supports DVLA date. Googling "Sunbeam WM6400" came up with nothing, which is slightly surprising - no auction results for instance to explain its export in 2006. |

How about WX6400? Unlikely I know, but maybe worth a look. https://www.flickr.com/photos/45676495@N05/8451282628 Two door saloon Sunbeam 20, Robert Knight, the photographer here, has thankfully annotated his picture to tell us what we see. This car is fitted with radiator shutters (maybe aftermarket?) which were around before the appearance of engine thermostats, and has its spare wheel mounted on the other side. -- Last edit: 2019-01-02 09:21:07 |

Nothing found. It was an early 1931 plate from West Yorkshire. |
