Trucknut, International Trucks Australia Limited doesn't exist anymore - Iveco brought the factory in Melbourne back in 1996! If you look closely at the 1996 to 2002 ACCO, the grille panel is a duplicate from the European EuroCargo model! The PowerStar is a uniquely Australian model - although it is of Italian descent, Iveco make this model here for our market! Joe -- Last edit: 2010-04-03 05:12:09 |

The Iveco Powerstar is of Australian origin, not Italian. According to the Iveco website, it's designed and built in Australia. The comment above which states it's built in South America is incorrect - I can't find any sources to verify this. He might be thinking of the Swedish bonneted trucks (Scania/Volvo), some of which did come from Brazil. As of 2019, the Powerstar is no longer listed on Iveco's Australian website, but Iveco claim it can still be built as a "special order". It looks like it won't last much longer. -- Last edit: 2019-01-01 20:20:25 |
