NEVER HAD Chevrolet badges, even says Buick in the grille and Buick hood ornament and Buick labels on trunk and C pillars. If were sold in Mexico in Chevrolet car dealers, doens´t mean that also were knowed as Chevrolet (And same explanation can be applied to Cutlass Ciera built and sold in Mexico) |

I think both Chevy and Buick sold the Century in Mexico, as well as Chevy and Oldsmobile selling the Cutlass and Cutlass Ciera. |

Here's what Wikipedia says (for what it's worth): "In Mexico, it was sold as the Century Limited (with no brand, although it wears the Buick logos). Introduced in 1984, it was the top model for General Motors Mexico, it survived successfully the import car wave from 1991 (previously new car importations were forbidden in Mexico) and continued in production until the 1996 model year. " Now on YouTube, someone spliced several commercials from Mexico for the Century. One mentions Chevrolet, but none mention Buick, just GM. Same with the Cutlass Ciera (which was just called Cutlass in at least one of them). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYDeU33otI0 Someone made a "Mexican History of Cutlass Ciera" here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFi9FBPevpc |

Called "GM Century" from the beginning, unlike the Cutlass which was initially sold as a Chevrolet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBCAT1ZKxHM -- Last edit: 2025-04-26 16:51:58 |
