Here's an interesting find from Hanks.. could this be the same truck? Seems to be a fairly rare paint job and considering the truck in the pic below was also owned by a Canadian carrier maybe its the same one? Comments?![]() |

Quite possible however it would have 'R&R Hoe Service' on the cab door as one of Hugh's (the polar bear) trucks being driven by Rick. So maybe it was bought from the other transport company - there even appears to be a patch that covers the 199? truck number on the side ahead of the door. Same truck I think, or from the same fleet of trucks, yes. -- Last edit: 2008-03-19 00:49:19 |

I meant that it could of been Hugh's truck but in it's former life as a fleet truck for Hudson Bay. But, I guess the deal is that Hudson bay had a few trucks painted like that. So, I imagine Hugh gets his trucks at auction for the season and resells after words with the exception of his IH. Also, that gold Freightliner like this one looks like a former Bison truck. another Hudson Bay truck pic: ![]() -- Last edit: 2008-03-19 04:59:37 |

Dwayne, the Unit Number of Rick's Truck is #166 the one with the photo on the passenger side is number #167 so that truck must of been purchased with Rick's Truck or after Rick's Truck -- Last edit: 2009-02-01 03:48:27 |

Yeah, this is an old Hudson Bay Truck alright, I compared the Fleet to this one off show, which is still visible on the show (#166) and came to an exact match to this one in my photo down below This is before Hugh ever bought it, This truck in my photo is the exact truck that Rick drove on Ice Road Truckers Enjoy! ![]() |

Rick Yemm's Truck that he drove for Hugh Rowland during Season One is a 1996 Freightliner FLD-120 that was bought by Hudson Bay Transport out of Hudson Bay, SK when brand new in which Hudson Bay had quite a few Freightliner FLD-120's just like it with the same paint scheme in the same two colors The one Rick was driving would of been what was known as #166 to the Hudson Bay Fleet Rick's Truck has a S-60 500HP Detroit Engine with a 18 Speed Transmission It actually appears in the background of the beginning truck stop scene in the Red-Blooded American Girl II 1996 Film starring Burt Young when it was brand new /vehicle_753605-Freightliner-FLD-120.html After Season One was finished being filmed Hugh Rowland only had one driver to bring home one of his trucks besides him bringing home his International himself and Danny Reese that was seen driving Drew Sherwood's Gold 1993 Freightliner FLD-120 ended up driving this truck home to Kelowna for Hugh Rowland after the Ice Road Season was over To this day this truck and the Cherry Black International he was driving himself during Season One are the only two trucks from Season One that Hugh Rowland still owns to this day |

Hugh Rowland still owns this one to this day although he did sell the other two Freightliner FLD-120's that he owned to a buddy of his in Yellowknife Hugh Rowland bought this truck in October of 2005 and there was an owner operator that owned the truck between Hudson Bay Transport out of Hudson Bay, SK and Hugh Rowland The owner operator owned the truck between after the first week of August in 2004 to October of 2005 Hudson Bay Transport bought the truck brand new in the beginning of March back in 1996 and owned it into the first week of August back in 2004 |
