I'd go for the DeSoto, because the Chrysler had an extra chrome strip between the bumper and the short strip just behind the headlights. And there is a difference in the bumper (just visible at the front): the Chryslers were concave, the DeSotos were convex with an extra rib on top, like the one shown here. In 1949 the onle convertible by DeSoto was the Custom [S-13-2].
