Yes, Taunus 12M aka P4. Development took place in Detroit BTW. |

... because it was going to be a World Car as the Ford Cardinal. Then Ford US decided it was too complicated (V4, front wheel drive) so gave up on it and dumped it on Europe. Ford GB said "no thanks - we'll keep it simple" and developed the "Archbishop" project which became the Cortina. |
