It is NOT a LeMirage. The windows on a LeMirage curve into the roof which the windows on the bus above do not. It is a Prevost XL, which began life as a Prevost Marathon XL LeMirage - /vehicles.php?make=prevost&model=lemirage&page=1 |

The Marathon had rectangular windows, similar to the MCI MC-9. This one may have been recapped but is a Champion based on the angular side windows. The link "Gray Line Group" toward the bottom of this Motor Bus Society page has a photo of sister coach Evergreen Stages #292, identifying it as a 1982 Champion. http://www.motorbussociety.org/conventn/00fall/index.html |

MBS didn't mention 293 because they chartered 292. There is no comprehensive Evergreen Stages roster that I can find, and Alan Gryfe's Prevost delivery list ends abruptly in mid-1981. However: 1. This bus has slanted windows like a Champion 2. This bus is sequentially numbered one higher than an identical coach identified as a 1982 Champion 3. 1982 was the final year for the Champion It's not too great a logical jump to call this one a 1982 Champion. Either way, 1982 XL is completely wrong; it's not an XL, and there was no XL in 1982. |
