Any way to distinguish a new XK-SS from a classic one at the first glance? |

If this is one of the Jaguar built continuation cars, other than the registration and chassis number, probably not, these are brand new and most of the surviving originals will have some patina, wear & tear and hopefully, a few well earned battle scars. Their publicity blurb states these cars are exact recreations. “Recreating the nine D-type-derived XKSSs was hugely satisfying, and an even bigger technical challenge than the six missing Lightweight E-types, but lessons learned from the XKSS project have given us a head start on the final 25 D-types. Each one will be absolutely correct, down to the very last detail, just as Jaguar’s Competitions Department intended.”. I dislike concours restorations, especially of racing cars (which evolve during their career), new (or as-new) is too sterile, you can't fake history. It would be nice if these cars went out and earned their own history, got thrashed, bashed & crashed (and fixed again in time for next weekend), unfortunately I suspect they'll end up unused and unseen in private collections with just and occasional publicity appearance and parade lap. -- Last edit: 2018-05-29 12:08:45 |

This is a continuation car,Richard said about it in the show. Also,XKSS was based on D-type chassis,so if they filled up the list of XKSS.It is pointless and greedy to continue do D-type continuation |
