I do not know, if Alexander did not labelled it as a Kaiser when sending the pictures, I would even not know what make it is :D

Check this out:

The 1950 model seems very similar

Yes, that is a tricky one. The 1949 model is identical except for the hood ornament. Kaiser had too many unsold 1949 model cars and therefore sold them as 1950 model in the following year.

Have a look at
http://www.lepoix.de/text/kaiser_hood_ornament.htm
and
http://www.kfnut.com/1950models/page1.html

On the De Luxe the middle chrome bar of the radiator grille is thicker.

Tricky it is, and I think you´re right :)
Another reason for the minimal changes of the 1950 series is that they released the all new 1951 model early in 1950.

Kaiser's model year data and sales figures are generally combined for 1949 and 1950 since the all new Kaiser 1951 was introduced in february of 1950 in the United States .The models sold early in 1950 were in any case 1949 leftovers. The two broad chrome strips ( chrome rocker molding) under the doors would identify this as a De Luxe rather than a Special: Specials had a thinner single chrome strip. Also the three bumper guards on the rear bumper and colour scheme point to a De Luxe. Up to the 1951 models , Kaisers had no standard hood ornaments so the large lucite one seen on this car seems an add-on accessory.
Being a Swedish film it should be noticed that Kaisers sold in the Scandinavian market ( and in France) could have been assembled in Kaiser's assembly plant in Israel with some minor modifications rather than in the Dutch Nekaf ( Nederlandse Kaiser Frazer) factory of Rotterdam.

I´m not absolutely sure about this, but I belive all Kaisers, and Frazers, sold on the swedish market came from the US-plant. There could of course be exceptions. But I do know that Finland received cars from the Israeli plant in Haifa.

I have known a Swedish Gentleman in the fifties .He drove a 1951 Kaiser that came from Kaiser Israel through commercial exchanges between Israel and Sweden. He once drove his car from Sweden to the french Côte d'Azur showing the reliability of these cars on the bad roads of the period
The origin of the Kaiser on this site and the debate of whether it is considered a 1949 model or a 1950 model can I think only be solved by checking the serial numbers with specialists of the marque.Leftover 1949 models received new serials to allow selling them as 1950 cars thus avoiding a depreciation

This is most interesting information Pilou, I´ll see if I can find out more about the Kaisers in Sweden.

Pilou is correct. ALL 1950 Kaisers and Frazers were re-serialed 1949 models (which was allowed in those days).
The only way to tell a '49 from a '50 is via the serial numbers.

The film is not Swedish, but from Norway. The car is still in good condition and is presented in the latest issue of the Norwegian classic car magazine "Bilklassikere".

Kaiser started production in Israel only in 1951, so this one cannot be one of these...
