This is not a 1939 Ford 1 ton truck but a 1938 Ford 1 1/2 tonner : 1938 Fords had a double vertical grille bar with the V8 logo on top of it as on this one. 1939 Ford trucks had a single vertical bar without the V8 logo there.Rating of medium duty was 1 1/2 ton/
