This is a Chevrolet Bel-Air Townsman (1957). Instead of "Bel-Air Townsman" it could also be "Two-Ten Townsman" or "Two-Ten Beauville". From the outside they are, as far as I know, identical. It is actually a normal Station Wagon and not a Hearse conversion. http://www.yesterdayschevrolet.com/57postcards.htm |

Le V sur le capot indique la présence d'un V8. C'est donc un 6 cylindres sur ce modèle. V emblem on the hood is for V8 powered engine. Actually it's a 6 cylinders model. |

Absence 3 finger chrome at the front fender and no ribbed trim in between at the rear fender do indicates 1957 Chevrolet Two-Ten Beauville. |

At least there weren´t carried out any visible body modifications. It could be a home-made hearse (done by the funeral director himself) or a professionally made conversion, but it´s rather impossible to find out who did this job. Many European hearses were built like that, especially in France, Belgium, Netherlands, Finland or Luxembourg. |

Please ignore my 2008 rjluna2 ![]() I guess we have no way knowing if this was the former Townsman (6-passenger) or Beauville (9-passenger) version. |
