Hopefully there will be some info on engine size from the registration plate. The car looks like a P3 about 1936 but it could be a late P2. |

robgeelen is correct.I am the lucky owner of this lovely phantom 111.There was only two built to this design. Sir George Martin K.B.E.was a prominent Leeds business man and civic figure. He became the Lord Mayor of Leeds and Lord Lieutenant of Yorkshire. It was originally painted all black. He kept it until 1952. It had three further owners until 1962 by which time it had fallen in to a poor state of repair and the engine was beyond economic repair. It was bought for scrap for £100 by Jonny Walker of J.Walker garage of 367 Kings Road Chelsea. He restored it and fitted a new B80 Rolls-Royce straight eight engine-a common transplant at the time. He sold it in 1963 through Simmons of Mayfair who specialised in old rolls . Shortly after it was used by James Robertsson-Justice in Doctor in Clover it was sold by Frank Dale and exported to Mexico. It was re-imported in 1996 by the Real Car Co andsold to a private collector who kept it under wraps. I bought it eight months ago and have carried out a sympathetic programe of restoration and use him as often as I can- His nickname is Sir Lancelot !!! |
