For sure in 1997 and for most of 1998 these cars didn't came yet on European roads from British plant, but I always thought that in this short time they were imported from Japan. In fact according to period car market catalog, with start of production in UK were expected lower prices for better equipped versions (at least over here). -- Last edit: 2018-01-04 17:02:23

For Croatia (and Bosnia) Corollas were made in Turkey

Exiv96 ◊ 2022-08-23 02:11	I don't think the hatchback was made in Turkey. Sedans, yes, starting in 1998, and they're mentioned in Toyota parts lists, but not hatchbacks.
