Unusual permutation - RHD but without the ugly raised lights forced onto UK S3. My guess is HK would have followed UK naming as Fulvia Coupé S3 rather than just 3.

My guess is that this is a conversion of some kind, either LHD->RHD or a lights/wings/front job as I cannot find anything about Fulvias in Hong Kong. It could be a private import from UK or elsewhere, unlikely they did a special version like this just for HK (Japan would want most likely LHD but perhaps these also went to Australia)

HK received lots of Fulvias, especially saloons and I suspect we've probably got more untagged examples. RHD/ordinary lights is a simple permutation for the factory to dial in to the batch scheduling and might have been used elsewhere (eg RHD Mediterranean markets) - it's the UK spec high light format which is the anomaly. This HK example doesn't look like it's got headrests (which I think were normal 3/S3 features, though haven't checked) or visible seatbelts; Malta was one market which didn't require seatbelts before late 70s - non-Lancia example - so maybe HK/M shared production batches??

Well I see we only have one other Coupe don't know if there are others hidden. But Malta+Hong Kong still must have been tiny numbers (even add Cyprus if you want) why bother when you have the UK version ready to go?

There would be other differences between the UK and other RHD markets, such as speedometers.

Speed limits in Hong Kong were in mph until 1984:

Australia, New Zealand and South Africa went metric during the 1970s.

In the Republic of Ireland distances on road signs were changed to metric during the 1970s, but speed limits and speedometers used mph until 2005.

My first Fulvia 2C came from HK, and my second one was an import directly to U.K.

Apart from differences in colour I can recall no other differences between the two cars in specification, lighting or anything else. It was, however, about 50 years ago!

I know all that. That isn't re-engineering is just swapping gauges.

Apparently there wasn't a problem with the 4-door Fulvia as its headlights stood high enough for the UK lawmakers..
