pilou ◊ 2007-06-07 20:48	In 1938 there were no Jaguars but only SS Jaguars for certain models .The name Jaguar became a make on its own after ww II , in 1945.So a 1938 Jaguar does not exist , must be an SS Jaguar .My view however is that this one is a post-wwII Jaguar 3 1/2 saloon of ca 1947 the largest model of the range.Those were identical to the 1940 SS models but with hypoid back axles.
kenny ◊ 2007-12-18 23:47	Hi I know this car. It is a Jaguar 1.5 post war car. Unfortunately a bit short at the snout! The 2.5 is in my opinion the perfect Jaguar saloon.
dsl ◊ 2015-06-22 18:05	Quirky trivia fact - the 1776cc engine in the 1938 onwards 1½ Litre was a commission by SS Jaguar from Standard Motor Company, also used from 1946 by Triumph (1800 saloon and Roadster) and Standard (14hp saloon, DHC, estate) until they stopped making it in March 49.
