It's a fire truck fallen into disuse? |

Yes a post 57 Bedford RL with very unusual open cab fire engine body. |

...or is it an Bedford C-type (4x2) rather than the 4x4 RL in the process of being scrapped? Without knowing the context in the movie I have doubts it was intended by design to be an open-cab. The apparent higher ride height could be a result of it being raised on jacks. |

It occurred to me it might have roof cut off for scrapping but look at the way the side window surrounds have been removed and the external chrome grab handles. -- Last edit: 2017-11-23 13:09:05 |

Yes agreed about the grab handles. However for me it raises more questions about its true appearance... Your commet about it being "very unusual" covers it! ![]() |

edit: after watching the scene again a number of times... The higher headlamp position (S-type or lighter C-type) is NOT seen also the rectangular side-light is missing. ![]() The upper edge of the headlamp blanking plate from the RL 4x4 is probably visible rather than the actual hwadlamp. -- Last edit: 2020-04-24 13:47:43 |
