Not a Hawk at all. While all we have is a direct side view and the car has been customized, I would list this as a 1955 Champion Custom. The Hawk grilles were attached to the hood and this car's hood contour appears straight across, a feature of the 1955 line. (Even the '53 and '54 models had a downward projecting piece that was part of the hood center.) Settling on Champion because of there being no side nameplate, and Custom since there is no side trim, but both items could have been removed during the customization. Would love to see more photos of this interesting looking Studebaker. |
