It does look like a 1938 Chrysler or De Soto (and De Sotos were often usesd as taxicabs). Yet the nose and grille are rounded like in Grahams or Willys and it's too big for a Willys. Strange. |

The same as 1938 De Soto 7-Passenger Sedan [S-5] as here I guess? /vehicle_84223-De-Soto-S-5-1938.html An unusual (for me) feature that is the same on these cars is the fact they use three hinges on the front doors. I saw what I thought was an extra hinge in the centre in the thumbnail picture above this is confirmed in The Falcon's Brother car. |

1938 DeSoto 7 passenger sedan S-5.In 1937 and 1938 DeSoto and Dodge used 3 hinges on the front door of most their cars , with the exception of the normal wheelbase 5 passenger touring sedan 4 doors that had 2.Two door touting sedans ,7 passenger sedans as this one ,coupes , convertibles and station wagons had 3. |
