I keep thinking Oldsmobile for some reason.

It might be nice to keep thinking Oldsmobile, but in this case it's better to think Byuick: it's a 1938 Buick, for sure, though I'm sorry I cannot tell which model it is.

To me it appears to have a humpback so not an 87 fastback sedan, but it is difficult to see. Also the rearmost side window is difficult to clearly see but it appears to be straight up and down where it meets the rear door, therefore this would not even be a Roadmaster but a Limited. But the picture is really too poor to be certain. What is certain is that it is a larger series (Roadmaster or Limited) Buick based on the sidemount.

The door is being opened "suicide style" which prevents the accurate determination of that critical window pillar.

With regards to this being a model 87 keep in mind they only made 466 model 87's, all of domestic use, no exports. It is a very rare car. There are only a handful left today in the Buick Club of America and known to exist. It is doubtful in 1996 when this movie was made that this is a model 87 being used.

I still think this is a Roadmaster Model 81 not an 87 slant back sedan
