Good question, tore-40. Do you have a good answer, supcoach? |

The car is classified as a coupe. The only coupes listed for 1962 are a Series 62 (Model 6247) and a de Ville (Model 6347). |

But the issue is, why is it classified as a coupe when we can't see the side to tell if it has 2 doors or not? |

I am going by what is listed. Ask the person who posted it...... |

couldabeenastar's post is a partial shot of a larger scene where we get to see the Cadillac showroom with I think 3 cars. It's this scene where we learn that the cars are 1962 models. |

I think from the side view you can see 4 doors...4 door handles...coupe to me always meant 2 doors but i have also read that the origin of the word "coupe" can also mean a shortened version of the original sedan length regardless of number of doors, |

That side view is of a different car. The subject car is barely visible in the thumbnail to the right. Still can't see how many doors it has. (BTW, in the on-line tralier, the van rams the side of the Cadillac hard in more gratuitous Hollywood vandalism of antique automobiles.) -- Last edit: 2018-02-04 15:48:05 |

The view showing two side doors is the car he bought. He was troubled by the green color, but the salesman assured him it was actually teal. |

New here, but I have been lurking for a while and I am a BIG fan. @ Commander 57 I too was pretty ticked off to see yet another classic wrecked in a movie just for the show of it, but I am glad to report that it was not. It was digitized. see pic Also- the 1962 CADILLAC DEVILLE came in 4 body types. I too wondered if it was a 2 door coupe or not. Need to re-watch the movie to study it more. The bus she rode in to get to work was a real treat to see, was it not? |
