Austin Allegro? I exspected an Innocenti Regent in an Italian movie... -- Last edit: 2017-06-08 16:02:50 |

Innocenti Regent was only made for 18 months 1974-75. I think UK Allegros were briefly sold in I 73-74 and then restarted after Regent ended - e225 knows these things better than me. This one is very plain but has posher grille, so should be basic October 75 onwards Allegro 2 after Regent ended - I think it has the second type of compact rear badges. |

Sorry, in Italy we had to wait for the December 1973 Regent without any Allegros. They were eventually imported as mkII since November 1976 in the following versions: 1100 De Luxe 2 door 1100 De Luxe 4 door 1300 Super De Luxe 4 door 1300 Super Estate. Sinca late they had quad headlights and one year later they were facelifted as Mk III almost in the same versions. In 1981 the 1100 was deleted and a new 1000 arrived. As you can see BL tried a different strategy: The Regent was 4 door inly and in just three version wth partially different engines: Regent 1300 Regent 1300 L Regent 1500 L. They were discontinued in 1975 but really a lot of unsold cars waited their owner till the summer of 1976. I hope I was useful for you, dsl. -- Last edit: 2017-06-08 18:35:35 |

I'll try to remember no Mk1s in Italy before Regent. We now have 7 Italian Allegros, including an estate and 2 Allegro 3s. |
