@Ingo - do you know were mudflaps required in DDR and (if yes) since when? In Poland it was part of 125p's standard equipment since 1971 (to meet change in regulations), maybe they started to place them also for export since this year (if didn't have to do it earlier).
So depends - if they were required in DDR before 1971, maybe it can be "made for DDR". Here is another same period 125p from E. Germany without mudflaps (or at least one mudflap :p ): /vehicle_558469-Polski-Fiat-125p-115C-1969.html
To be honest mudflaps are ones of these parts were "made for" tag is a risky thing - they always can be added by the owner, even if regulations don't force to this, but IIRC VW Golfs are on the site "made for DDR" mostly by the mudflaps.

@Weasel: I'm not referring about tiny stuff as mudflaps, more about special technical or interior versions.

But as I've heard from a freak for the DDR-car-scene, the main topic for cars -either COMECON oder Western made- was: no extra options, no luxoury, no special or posh editions at all. The DDR got always the basic, poverty-spec stuff - the Western markets the top line material.
So the 1981 Mazda 323 was the only car ever with metallic paintwork, sold officially in the DDR.
In the DDR was only the Dacia 1300/1310 sold, never the Break/Kombi/Estate-version.
The Rapid/R-versions of the Skodas were extreme rarities in the DDR - but flogged in Western Germany.
Despite the fact, that the Lada Niva was never sold to the normal DDR-citizenship, of course the edition "California" wasn't sold there - but in Western Germany.

I must ask the guy for more details. Actually I'm rummaging, if cars with the original sunroof-option were ever sold officially in the DDR
IIRC Convertibles as the Skoda Felicia weren't sold the either. The Wartburg 311 Cabriolet was the only officlally available Convertible there at all, if I'm not wrong.

Let's be honest Nivas were much harder to get than the other Ladas in many (all?) COMECON states (on the other hand the demand was for sure also smaller).
Dacia wagons were also rarer or very rare compared to sedan.

I'm sure they had 450s/Felicias in DDR (we have some on this site), same as Wartburgs with sun roof.
