1959 GM TDH 5106 Surface Transit Inc. New York Fleet number 3052. As the movie came out in 1958, this cannot be a 1959 model bus. Also, GMC not GM |

According to the other images in this film Fifth Avenue Company´s GM TDH 5106 is visible at the Ford Crestline Sunliner. Surface Transit Co. was part of Fifth Av Co. My opinion of GMC is car-related. Other vehicles just GM. -- Last edit: 2017-04-29 21:04:34 |

@maxp - If you look at the build plate on transit/intercity buses of that era it says GMC Truck and Coach Division, NOT GM. Name plate on front also said GMC. All I am saying regarding the above bus, which apparently you missed is that it cannot be a 1959 model as the movie came out in 1958.... There is only one alternative left .New York City Omnibus Co. had a GMC TDH 4509 with fleet number 3052 built 1951. It seems more trustworthy because shape of windows near back door suits a 4509. Sorry for having two different green/cream buses in this film. -- Last edit: 2017-04-29 21:31:39 |
