The mayor's limo at Leeds Children's Day in Roundhay Park. MUM 1 was Leeds issue, 1949. |

Maybe a pre WW2 Wraith? - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolls-Royce_Wraith_(1938) Looks different from the post war models. -- Last edit: 2017-04-11 06:22:57 |

Link to "bringatrailer.com" Pre war, not post imho. Straight waist moulding matches this Hooper limousine body. http://debikirksey.blogspot.co.uk/2010_08_01_archive.html Or what about this? http://www.alamy.com/stock-photo/fld-99.html Or Field Marshall Montgomery's Wraith? -- Last edit: 2017-04-11 17:21:42 |

This is not 'Unknown', it is a Wraith Limousine, by Park Ward or, my best guess based on the information we currently have, Hooper. |

I believe this to be a Rippon bodied Wraith limousine, chassis number WLB27, which was registered 'HUM5', easily mistaken in poor quality copies for 'MUM1'. In the second image provided, by dsl, it can be seen more clearly that the prefix is in fact 'HUM' and not 'MUM'. Furthermore, in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kea4AzYkcIA) in the first few seconds can be seen a Rolls-Royce to the right of the screen, bearing a registration plate awfully similar, which, if looked at closely enough and for long enough, reads HUM5. It is also clearly a Rippon bodied Wraith by the distinctive rear end design, not visible in the images shared here. Attached is a photograph of WLB27 when in the Northeast United States a number of years ago.![]() |

Scrap that, the body on this car and the one on WLB27 do not match, for example, there is no chrome strip below the lower edge of the window, and at the rear, the swaging line goes up on the car pictured and on WLB27 it remains fairly straight. The car in the video is WLB27 but the car in the colour stills here is not. |

HUM 5 was issued August 1939 if that helps. I've got a book photo of another Rippon Wraith limousine side-on, which is close to your photo in most respects, but has thin chrome pillar at back edge of rear door, not body colour bodywork and other small differences; the angle of the photo shows a front numberplate but prevents it being read. So I can well believe your photo is a Rippon. But am less convinced that either is the same bodystyle as the one in video. Beltline in video seems taller with shallower cabin and windows, so if it is a Rippon it's a different choice from their catalogue. |
