This is a 1975-76 Holden TX Gemini sedan. Appears to have the early "Holden-Isuzu" script across the back as the "Holden Gemini" script of the mid 1975 cars was a more obvious shape than what can be seen here. It's parked on the wrong side of the road! Being an Aussie-built (Acacia Ridge plant, Queensland) and sold car, it is RHD, while the movie was made in Australia, it was set in a non-descript American city, hence why it may be parked on the wrong side. |

Shouldn't these be Model origin: 🇯🇵, seeing as it's a rebadged Isuzu? |

No, these were built in Australia; GMH Holden's long-defunct Acacia Ridge plant in Queensland and included quite a high degree of local content. I have a Japanese-built Gemini (actually a US-market Opel by Isuzu) and despite a near-identical bodyshell, there are marked differences in the radiator, engine ancillaries, rear axle, rear brakes, gauges and trim. Springs and shocks were also locally sourced and differently rated to the JDM items. Five years too late, but whatever! |
