Indeed, they were made as middle trim level only in the Australia market up until the 1960s. But, did they just sold as just "Chevrolet" instead of "Chevrolet Two-Ten" in the Australian market?

Yes, I think Chevs were initially just sold as Chevs. I think they began being sold as "Bel-Air" from around 1959.
