I was going to say maybe it is a 1998 if the exhaust is behind the rear wheel but it doesn't appear in front either Wonder if this was a heavily used vehicle for 2 or 3 years prior to filming (1997's would have come out in 1996).

Since it appears at least one of them was destroyed, it's quite possible it's just a rolling chassis without any sort of powertrain and therefore, no need for an exhaust system. Chassis is [PN96] for these.
