Got any better shots? It looks like a WW1-era Model 2B or 3A - these were both used in quantity by the Italian military. |

I wouldn't dare make myself out as an expert on early Fiats, but it just struck me that this car might be earlier if you look at the angle of the sides of the radiator (which is really all we have to work with), and the combination of lights and lanterns. Essentially the same radiator design can be found on FIAT cars as early as the 1903 16/24hp, and by the time the Tipo 54 was made in 1912, there was already a subtle change in the slant of the sides of the radiator (and the lanterns had disappeared). These changes are very noticeable if you look at the 1913 Tipo 51 ('Zero'). ![]() |
