Fake plate. California plates usually have three letters have the first number and than three more numbers. |

Those are the newer plates Terra. Older ones used that format Gamer mentioned. I found a few Econolines with 5X55555 format unless that was a truck/commercial format. Where is Reg or Jetta lol they can shed light on the issue as to when the format changed. |

Here's what I found: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_California The 1ABC123 format was first used in 1980. The 5X55555 format was for commercial plates only from 1975-2010. 2011 introduced 12345A1 format. This one is likely a commercial plate instead. |
