The rear badge in the 7th thumbnail looks like it could be "Super V8" but that was only LWB and this looks SWB to me.

Where did you get that from? :??: Super V8 was available SWB from 2003-2004 (there weren't any LWB X350s at all until late summer 2004/2005MY).

It seems okay as an ID for this one, but it hasn't got chrome mirror shells.

However the Super V8 seemed to have a mesh grille (it was like a LWB XJR) this doesn't.

That brochure is from after the change (LWB announced April 04, production from summer so would be right for a May 2004 price list).

EDIT: Mesh grille might be a later change as these earlier Super V8s don't have one:

Since all the details (grille, alloys, wheelbase) on both those cars match this, I'll accept 2003 Super V8.

Glass's says XJ 4.2 Super V8 introduced Jan 03, LWB version added June 04. 8x18" Prestige wheels, lots of chrome including grille surround and vanes etc. There was also as separate model XJR 4.2 Super V8 introduced Jan 03 - 8.5x19" wheels, lots of black instead of chrome for grille surround and grille mesh - only listed as SWB.

What was the first model year for the X350? Wikipedia says "Production 2004-2009": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_XJ_(X350) And what the first model year for US/Canada models?

Sales from March 2003 in the UK. First MY in the US was 2004 but I'd say March is too early for that in Europe?

OK, shall we enter 2003 as a default year for UK/Europe models with rubbing trim on doors?

Yes. I've confirmed 2003 now using this as a reference: /vehicle_563024-Jaguar-XJ8-X350-2003.html
For UDU675 VIN = SAJAA72N03RG06082
